Vickers Energy Group is celebrating multiple ‘green’ award wins this month, having scooped a ‘Gold Award’ at the Green Apple Awards and ‘Green Business of the Year’ at the Trafford Business Awards.

The Green Organisation awarded Vickers Energy Group a ‘Gold Award’ in the ‘Built Environment’ category at the Green Apple Awards 2014. The awards recognise and reward environmental best practice around the world and Vickers were commended for their energy management system, which has enabled their customers to reduce  energy consumption and save thousands of pounds in the process.

Vickers then triumphed again at the Trafford Business Awards, where they were presented with ‘Green Business of the Year’. The awards, organised by MEN Media, celebrated the achievements of local businesses and commended Vickers on their work, improving the carbon footprint of many local and national customers.

Vickers designs, manufactures, installs and maintains advanced energy management systems that are tailored to each customer and their clients include Stagecoach, National Express, RAF Museum Cosford, Caterpillar and Rolls Royce. The systems revolutionise energy consumption, save money and improve the company’s environmental rankings.

Over 10 years Vickers have saved their customers 10.5 billion kWh of energy and reduced CO2 emissions by 2 million tonnes, equating to savings of £200m.

David Hilton from Vickers said: “We delighted that we have won both of these awards this month. Both awards are testament to the results of our energy management systems and satisfaction of our customers.

“Like The Green Organisation, we are encouraging businesses to consider their Carbon footprint and implement corporate social responsibility programmes, as well as helping them save money on their energy bills.”
