Central America has one of the world’s brightest solar power market outlooks. High power prices and volatile fuel supplies have made solar cheaper than fossil fuels in many countries, driving new investment and capacity additions.

From 10th to 14th November, Solarplaza has organised the five-day, all-inclusive and intensive Solar PV Trade Mission Central America. A one week, turn-key business development solution to explore the opportunities in El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Guatemala, Colombia and Costa Rica.

From the 10th – 11th November, taking place in San Jose, Costa Rice, there was an introduction to doing business in Central America, as well as meeting with the government and energy utility regulators from Costa Rica.

Moving to Panama City, Panama, for the 12th – 14th November, there were further meetings with government and energy bodies there as well as a workshop based on financing solar power projects within Central America.
