According to Business Energy Claims, a team of energy and legal experts helping businesses to recover hidden commissions and losses from the mis-selling of commercial energy contracts, schools are being mis-sold 15% of total energy spend.

Callum Thompson, Director at Business Energy Claims said: “The energy crisis is evidently getting worse. We are saddened to see the extent to which schools are struggling with day-to-day operating costs. We suspect these schools could be at risk of being mis-sold approximately 15% of their total spend on energy.

“It is clear that businesses are being impacted in the same way as consumers. There is no price cap for these businesses, meaning energy companies can essentially charge what they want.

“Schools are being impacted in the worst possible way and they should not have to decide between good education or energy. If schools have used an energy broker to source their business energy, there is a good chance they have been mis-sold to and could claim back thousands of pounds that can be used to help ease these burdens.”
