Industry leading renewable organisations and the latest renewable technologies and innovations can be seen under one roof this week, when the Birmingham NEC hosts the industry’s only event focused on the onsite generation of renewable energy.

Visitors to The Renewables Event can speak directly with more than 30 of the leading industry players and see the latest technology and gadgets – many new products will also be launched exclusively at the two-day show. ESTA (the Energy Services and Technology Association) and MEUC (Major Energy Users Council) are key event partners.

Big name exhibitors showcasing their latest products at The Renewables Event this year include Bosch Commercial and Industrial Heating (stand 06/A5), who will demonstrate their range of energy efficient heating and hot water technologies. Their latest products range from solar thermal panels and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) units to the latest in condensing boiler technology.
British Gas Company, Econergy (stand 06/C15) will show their range of log boilers, pellet boilers and heat pumps, including the closed loop vertical pumps generated by ground source water. They specialise in biomass heating, ground and air source heat pumps and integrated solar thermal systems.

Other exhiitor highlights include energy specialists Specflue (06/A25), the UK’s exclusive distributor of the Italian MCZ biomass and pellet fueled stoves and boilers, which provide savings up to 80% compared to traditional gas and oil fuel boliers.

Also from Specflue, is the pioneering HEATBANK® that offers advanced renewable heat energy storage via all manner of natural sources – up to five at the same time – which can be utilised to provide domestic hot water and central heating. A thermal store can generate three times as much hot water in the same time as a gas boiler.

Arbor Heat and Power (06/A13) will launch their new product ArborElectroGen® at The Renewables Event. The new CHP gasification system uses biomass to produce heating and power, resulting in very low net lifecycle of carbon emissions compared to conventional sources of heating, such as gas, oil and even plant oil. Available in a variety of sizes, the system is suitable for small rural businesses, larger (rural) residential properties and larger district heating schemes such as hospitals and universities

The latest eco friendly heating products will be on show by Eco Infrared Technology (06/A08), including their industrial infrared panels, domestic infrared panels, under floor heating solutions, fly killers and infrared heaters.

Forever Fuels (06/D8) will also reveal their supply of wood pellets for sustainable heating systems. They provide premium-grade (ENplus-A1) wood pellets, bulk delivered by bespoke pressurised tankers that can blow the wood pellets into your pellet-store.
Finally, the latest products from Viessmans (06/B25) will include the Vitocal 200-S split air/water heat pump (3 kW to 10.6 kW). Ideal for new buildings and renovations, it can be used with existing oil and gas boilers. Other products on display include the Vitodens 111-W storage combi (5.9 kW to 35 kW), and Vitodens 100-W P25/P29 range of gas fired condensing combi boilers.

Viessmans is also sponsoring the free to attend conference programme in the Re:Word Theatre, which will run alongside the exhibition at The Renewables Event. It will focus on the latest renewables technology, legislation and advice for businesses looking to create their own onsite renewable energy.

Speakers in the Re:Word Theatre include Nina Skorupska who will give her first keynote speech as REA Chief Executive and Michael Rutter, Head of Renewable Energy Delivery in the Office of Renewable Energy Deployment (ORED) in the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).

Other speakers include rural enterprises director at the National Trust, Patrick Begg, TV presenter, Ethical Awards judge and environmental reporter for The Guardian, Lucy Siegle and Head of Environment at Nestle, Inder Poonaji.
