Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, has announced that independent analyst firm Verdantix has named several of Schneider Electric’s building energy management platforms as leaders in its 2014 Green Quadrant Building Energy Management Software report.

Schneider Electric’s platforms were rated highly compared to other suppliers for their strengths in assisting organisations in improving energy management strategies, managing energy procurement and risk management, utility bills, reporting carbon and energy use and reducing overall energy costs. The company also received the overall highest score for market momentum based on the aggregate scoring of market vision and sustainability, product strategy and architecture, customer momentum, implementation and value, organisational resources, financial resources and partnerships.

Specific platforms evaluated as part of the report include StruxureWare Resource Advisor, a comprehensive Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform. StruxureWare Resource Advisor provides simple access to enterprise-wide carbon, energy and other resource data reports and summaries which enable businesses to drive impactful energy management and sustainability strategies.

StruxureWare Building Operation, part of the SmartStruxure solution, is also included on the report. This application provides integrated monitoring, control, and management of energy, lighting, fire safety and HVAC to optimise energy use, reduce consumption and maintain a healthy environment.

Additionally, StruxureWare Energy Operation, was included in the report. This cloud-based SaaS tool collects energy consumption information to help organisations optimise energy use while reducing operating expenses.

Steve Wilhite, senior vice president of energy and sustainability services at Schneider Electric, commented: “Achieving leadership status in Verdantix’s Green Quadrant Building Energy Management Software report validates the dedication Schneider Electric gives to the vision and investment of our energy and sustainability solutions. Providing our clients with the leadership and tools to increase their business performance is at the heart of all that we do.”

The Green Quadrant report combines benchmark data from 14 suppliers’ responses to a 130-point questionnaire, and interviews with an independent panel of 15 customers across nine industries, who have bought or are planning to buy building energy management software.

The report provides guidance for senior executives and decision-makers, including CFOs, directors of energy, facilities and real estate and heads of procurement. It also assists industries such as banking, business services, healthcare, hotels and leisure, insurance, media and retail in selecting a software supplier to manage their firm’s energy supply, consumption and cost – from the smaller business with a modest building footprint to the large enterprise.
