The Energy and Utilities Alliance (EUA) Biomass Heating Group has held its inaugural meeting. The group, led by EUA divisions HHIC and ICOM, was created following DECC’s indication that it would prefer a single trade association with whom to negotiate.

The meeting was chaired by ICOM Director Ross Anderson and was attended by a range of member companies involved in biomass heating, together with representatives from Ofgem who gave a presentation on the non-domestic RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive).

Ross Anderson said “The attendance was excellent with a broad representation of the industry. We discussed and debated a range of topics including the need for an accredited non-domestic training programme for engineers, the need to educate designers to ensure that they cover all aspects of the installation, the issues with obtaining RHI acceptance and the overall need to bring the biomass industry together.”
