Energy management solutions from Endress+Hauser are simple, flexible and highly scalable, plus we have the engineering capabilities to incorporate a wide variety of metering options, software systems and consultancy. Whether you’re interested in simple, low cost wireless solutions for commercial buildings or the public sector, heat metering to meet Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) accreditation, or comprehensive site-wide automatic monitoring and targeting systems, Endress+Hauser has the right solution, products and services to help you.

For decades we have been supplying utility meters to process industries, helping our customers to achieve a mass and energy balance for utilities such as steam, compressed air, natural gas and water. Six flow measuring technologies – magnetic, vortex, Coriolis, thermal mass, DP flow and ultrasonic – allow us to select the appropriate technique for the application. More recently we have added electricity meters to our range.

As the market-leading manufacturer of vortex meters we have unrivalled capabilities in steam metering. Our instruments offer superior vibration and temperature shock immunity as well as protection against the effects of water hammer. We have recently built a world-class steam research and development facility at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland in Windisch. This rig has been used to develop a new range of vortex meters, the Prowirl 200, offering wet steam detection and measurement from dryness fraction 80-100%.

We can also help to integrate all measurements into your existing infrastructure using a variety of protocols, or alternatively we can provide stand-alone data collection solutions in the form of low-cost loggers and gateways that can be wired or wireless. This energy interval data can either be sent to your existing software or we can provide complete software solutions. Our own energy management software, eSight, has proved its worth at our headquarters in Manchester, saving over 10% of energy use and, for the third year running, receiving the energy management standard accreditation ISO 50001.

To help deliver a return on your energy management investment we can provide consultancy services such as energy efficiency assessments. By identifying the opportunities to reduce energy and carbon emissions on your site we can not only help to deliver energy savings but also improve performance.

With the increasing attractiveness of the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (doubling of the tariff for large-scale biomass from April 2014), Endress+Hauser is well-placed to help you take advantage of this scheme. We can help you seek RHI accreditation by advising on the compliant heat metering technology and correct installation, as well as providing you with an independent report for metering arrangement (IRMA), required by OFGEM.
