Idom Merebrook, a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a growing presence in Scotland has opened new offices in Stirling. With six regional offices throughout the UK, central Scotland has been identified as a new potential growth region for Idom Merebrook across all of their engineering disciplines.

Environmental engineering and developing renewable energies will be a major focus for the Stirling team, led by Principal Engineer Alex Sinclair who has significant expertise in Scotland’s renewables sector.

In the wind turbine market Idom Merebrook already works closely with some of the onshore wind energy companies operating in this region, and the Stirling base will both support existing clients and also provide the opportunity to develop further business in the renewables market. Idom Merebrook offers a fully comprehensive package of engineering services to assist in the delivery of wind turbine projects.

The team works across all stages of the process from planning and detailed design, to construction management and health and safety. The Scottish team are currently involved with the delivery of several Enercon powered wind turbine developments in Scotland, one of which is the installation of a Enercon E48 wind turbine and supporting infrastructure at Windyhill in Kincardineshire.

Idom Merebrook has also been contracted to provide a range of services for Scottish based environmental specialists Ecodyn. Working on projects across Scotland, the scope of work includes engineering design, construction procurement and construction supervision.

The new team at Stirling is also working extensively with the Altyre Estate in Forres on a high profile biomass project, whereby a district heating system is being created to serve The Glasgow School of Arts new state-of-the-art research and teaching facility at the Estate.
