Introduction

As part of UK Construction Week, the largest construction trade event in the UK, Energy 2015 is a brand new event is aimed at energy specialists, civil engineers, architects, building contractors and other energy sector professionals, and is firmly focused on providing insight into the latest trends and valuable face-to-face time with the industry’s leading players.

 

What’s on at the show?

The dedicated Energy Hub will feature a busy seminar schedule of debates, practical workshops and panel discussions. The Energy Hub will provide a valuable resource to professionals in the energy sector looking to learn new skills, network, improve business prospects and understand the future direction of the industry.

The first day of seminar content takes a look at the role of solar PV in construction with the help of the British Photovoltaic Association, as well as the latest developments in energy storage technology. The day is then finished with a handy ‘best practice’ seminar about understanding predicted and actual energy use of buildings.

Day two of Energy 2015 will feature a detailed look at the latest policy drivers for energy and carbon reduction and an update on the most recent edition of the Zero Carbon Compendium from the National House Building Council (NHBC), Zero Carbon Hub and PRP Architects.

The final day of seminar content looks to the future of the industry, with sessions debating what the energy landscape will look like in 20 years time. Visitors will also be able to learn from some of the UK’s most energy efficient buildings in a case study style seminar.

One particular highlight of the seminar schedule will be the discussion on sustainable transport at 12:00pm on 7th October. Led by Natalie Bennett, Leader of the Green Party, along with Adam Chase – Director of E4tech (UK) Ltd, Stephen Joseph – Chief Executive at Campaign for Better Transport and Claire Haigh – Chief Executive Officer at Greener Journeys, the session will explore the social, economic and environmental considerations of greener transport.
