The Baxi Commercial family of brands are geared up to manage their environmental impact more effectively, after putting into place a framework in line with international standards.

Andrews Water Heaters, Potterton Commercial and SenerTec – which together make up Baxi Commercial – have been certified by BSI to ISO 14001:2004, which maps out a framework that can be used to set up an effective environmental management system.

The standard signals that environmental impact at certified organisations is being measured and improved. Benefits can include reduced cost of waste management, savings in consumption of energy and materials and lower distribution costs.

Andrew Maclagan, managing director at Baxi Commercial, said: “This is a milestone achievement for our three brands, demonstrating to our customers that we take the environmental impact of our business extremely seriously and are carving a route through which we can work to reduce that effect.

“Energy efficiency is at the heart of what we provide to our customers, and in attaining standards like ISO 14001we will be better able to formalise energy management within our own operations.”

“Achieving certification to ISO 14001 clearly demonstrates Baxi Commercial’s commitment to being a sustainable organization,” commented Toni Jones, UK head of client propositions, BSI.

“The organisation should feel proud for putting in the hard work that’s involved in implementing a system across its three brands, to enable them to control their environmental impact.”

ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation) is an independent, non-governmental membership organisation and the world’s largest developer of voluntary international standards. It has published more than 19,500 standards covering a broad spectrum of industries, from technology to healthcare.
