The Energy Institute (EI) and the Energy Systems Trade Association (ESTA) are calling for applications to join their Register of Professional Energy Consultants (RPEC). This new register focuses on providing the highest quality of energy efficiency advice and support for business and industry.
Last year the EI announced its plans to operate a joint register of professional energy consultants with ESTA. This came about shortly after the Carbon Trust’s news to close its own register. Those previously registered with the Carbon Trust are eligible to join the register via the EI’s ‘grand parenting’ scheme, which closes at the end of March 2013.
Sarah Beacock FEI, international and professional affairs director, Energy Institute, said, “With energy prices rising and energy efficiency remaining a strong focus for UK government policy, we expect this register to be in high demand. One main difference to this register, compared to previous incarnations, is that all consultants who wish to join RPEC must achieve chartered status. This additional qualification and professional recognition provide added credibility to the individual and their expertise. RPEC registration shows that their qualification and experience are of the highest standard and recognises their commitment to professionalism.”
Consultants who were previously registered with the Carbon Trust but are not currently chartered can apply to join the register through the grand parenting scheme, as long as they achieve chartered status by January 2014. Applicants that were not previously on the Carbon Trust register are also welcome.
Individuals included on this free to search register will be categorised by their sector and technology experience, and skills set.
