British Gas and Schneider Electric are among the shortlisted companies for this year’s hotly contested Environment and Energy Awards to be held on 22nd May.

The awards aim to celebrate excellence and innovation in the environmental sector, and high standard of entries, including a number of first time entrants, shows that even in times of austerity, companies are continuing to increase their commitment to sustainable practices – with a particular focus on investment in new technology and trained personnel.

All winners will be announced on the evening of Tuesday 22nd May, at a black tie dinner held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. Hosted by comedian Dominic Holland, the evening promises to be an exciting combination of networking, celebration and entertainment.

Donna Bushell, event director, commented, “The quality of this year’s entries has once again been excellent and resulted in an outstanding shortlist of environmental, energy and sustainable businesses from across a broad range of sectors that are clearly making a serious commitment to a low-carbon future. We would like to thank all our award entrants for taking the time to enter, and congratulate the finalists on their achievement.”
