At the congress “Energy efficient and renewable solutions towards the European energy efficiency with a double benefit” hosted by the Greek presidency of the EU, Clivet presents its heat pump solutions for energy saving in Mediterranean comfort.
On 11th April 2014, Clivet participated in the conference organised by the Greek presidency of the EU council along with the European Heat Pump Association (EHPA), which took place in Bruxelles.
Keynote speakers from different sectors, such as Paul Hodson from the European Commission’s Directorate General for Energy, Constantine Karistas from the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving, Stanmatis Sivitos from the European Environmental Citizen Organization for Standardization and Thomas Novak, Secretary General of EHPA, discussed where Europe stands with regards to the energy efficiency targets and how heat pump technology can be seen as an easy solution to achieve both energy efficiency and renewable energy targets.
Clivet gave its contribution with a speech by Marco Grisot, application manger residential, on the heat pump technology for residential and commercial applications in Italy and abroad, with a focus on the new electric tariffs in Italy, which will help with heat pump technology diffusion. Marco Grisot comments: “Heat pumps, thanks to the Italian favourable climate, can use 75% of renewable energy, contributing significantly to the reduction of the dependence on fossil fuels. Heat pump systems in commercial applications are well established even in harsh climates. The specialization and know-how acquired in Italy in commercial systems allows us to increase export in other European countries.”
The first part of presentations gave insight on residential, commercial and industrial applications with a special focus on Greece and Italy, the second part presented examples from district heating in Denmark and discussed a proposal for an environmental NGO on Ecodesign and Energy Labelling for heating systems.
The conference concluded with an optimistic view on the possibility of reaching European targets thanks to heat pump technology, while increasing employment in Europe.
