The Cleantech Connect Awards 2012, organised by technology investment bank GP Bullhound, is now open for entries and aims to recognise the top 30 fastest growing cleantech companies in Europe, as well as the 30 ‘ones to watch.’

The award winners will be selected by a judging panel of industry leaders and will be ranked on actual revenue growth rates between 2009 and 2011.

The Awards, now in their fourth year, have served to put a spotlight on innovation in cleantech and celebrate the achievements of the high growth companies, their managements and their investors despite the current economic climate. Cleantech Connect also provides a forum for industry leaders on the judging panel to come together with the entrepreneurs and CEOs of the top 60 companies.

Andre Shortell, partner, GP Bullhound, said, “Clean technologies are being adopted by almost every industry and are becoming an increasingly central part of daily operations. We believe it’s vital we continue to raise the profile of high potential and innovative companies in this sector and spur their continued success.

“Over the past four years we’ve seen companies offering meaningful benefits to existing processes as well as disruptive technologies across a number of sectors enter Cleantech Connect. For 2012 we expect to see a wider range of new technologies as well as a greater number of companies that have reached later growth stages as Cleantech comes of age. We’re seeing increased innovation in water, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, and smart grid technology and expect these to be hot sectors in this year’s awards.”

CEOs and founders of the 60 shortlisted companies, along with the judges and industry leaders, will be invited to Avenue Restaurant in London for the Cleantech Connect Awards Dinner on the 15th November.
