bp pulse is supporting the UK’s emergency services amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with the introduction of free charging for registered NHS, police, fire, blood transportation and NHS Trust non-emergency vehicles.

From 27th January to the 31st March, drivers issued with a qualifying corporate card can use the bp pulse public charging network for free.

The initiative forms part of a broader programme of support measures offered to emergency service personnel by parent company, bp. Drivers of petrol or diesel emergency vehicles can also fill up with fuel for free, while more than 250,000 bp/M&S meals will be donated to the ‘Lunch for Lifesavers’ scheme, in partnership with Deliveroo.

Matteo de Renzi, CEO of bp pulse, said: “Our inspiring emergency service and healthcare teams are working tirelessly to keep us safe during these most challenging of times. The pandemic’s impact both in the UK and around the world has been profound, and we knew it was important to do our bit to help. We hope that by offering free charging, we can play a part in supporting key workers and critical services in the fight against the virus. On behalf of everyone at bp pulse, I’d like to thank all of our public sector workers for their continued efforts.”

bp pulse boasts a network of more than 7,000 public charge points across the UK. Drivers can find their nearest charging point through the bp pulse app or by using the bp pulse point map: www.bppulse.co.uk/pulse-point-map.
